EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

What is Choosing Home?

Made possible through the State Fiscal Recovery Funds (SFRF), is a program called Choosing Home, (an extension of the Housing and Home Improvement Program) that is intended to help reduce and/or prevent homelessness within the older adult community.

ECC-AAA is offering the opportunity for community-based service providers serving at-risk seniors 60 years of age and older to provide assistance for rent and/or rental deposit assistance, utilities, deposits, mortgage, taxes, accessibility ramps, basic household furnishings, and minor home repairs

 

Carteret County Department of Social Services-

Supports at-risk seniors 60 years of age and older in Carteret County by providing rental and/or rental deposit assistance.

Eligible individuals can be assisted with past due rent, rental deposits, as well as assistance with basic household furnishings.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh - New Bern office

Supports at-rick seniors 60 years of age and older in Craven, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow, and Pamlico Counties seeking assistance with utilities, deposits, mortgage, taxes, accessibility ramps, and minor home repairs.

Wayne Action Group for Economic Solvency (WAGES)-

Supports at-risk seniors 60 years of age and older in Duplin, Greene, and Wayne Counties by assisting with electricity, cable, gas, water, mortgage, and rent.
