The Finance Department handles the budgets for all of the ECC departments - Human Services - Area Agency on Aging, Administration, and Planning, Economic Development and Grants (includes Transportation).

As a local government in NC, ECC is subject to legislation requiring financial management in accordance with generally accepted governmental accounting principles. Working within its annual budget ordinance, the Finance Department manages and reports for a variety of grants from varied sources - including Federal, State, and local monies, as well as private funds.

The Finance Department works to provide accurate financial information to the Eastern Carolina Council Board, Executive Director, oversight agencies, and contractors on a timely basis and to enhance communications between the above parties regarding such information.
