The Eastern Carolina Council of Governments welcomes Heather O’Connor to our Area Agency on Aging team as the Lead Aging Consultant. Heather will be responsible for monitoring all Home and Community Care Block grants, Family Caregiver Support, and Evidence-Based Health Promotion programs throughout the region.

Heather started her career after college at Neuse Mental Health for over ten years as the Administrative Assistant. After her work at the Neuse Mental Health, Heather worked for the next fourteen and a half years at Craven County Department of Social Services as an Accountant Tech III. While at Craven County, she worked with the Adult Services and Senior Services Departments and fell in love with helping older adults in her community. Heather’s knowledge, skills. and experience will be extremely beneficial to Eastern Carolina Council of Governments.
