DIGITAL NAVIGATOR
WHAT IS A DIGITAL NAVIGATOR? A Digital Navigator is a facilitator, trainer, collaborator, and advocator of digital equity for older adults.
The Area Agency on Aging Digital Navigator works in communities to create programs and provide services that meet specific needs by helping older adults develop local-driven solutions. While the focus of the Digital Navigator is on older adults, ideally the impact will go beyond older adults to improve digital equity for all members of the communities and counties with the recognition that they will be the older adults of the future.
The grant for digital navigators was awarded to the Center for Digital Equity (CDE) at Queens University of Charlotte by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Aging, resulting in an initiative titled “Ageless Access Principal Digital Navigation (AA-DN), a collaboration between the Center for Digital Equity and the Division of Aging.
