REGIONAL AGING ADVISORY COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Easter Carolina Council Area Agency on Aging (ECCAAA) is seeking volunteers to represent their
county on the ECCAAA Regional Aging Advisory Committee (RAAC). The purpose of RAAC is to
serve as advocates for older adults and family caregivers. RAAC members actively promote all
programs of benefit. Members advise the Area Agency on Aging staff on the interests of senior
adults and family caregivers by keeping informed of issues impacting these individuals and
members who serve as liaisons between their counties and the RAAC. RAAC members assist the
Area Agency on Aging and local service providers in assessing the needs of senior adults and
family caregivers. Members advise the Area Agency on Aging on matters relating to the
development and administration of their four-year Area Plan.
The RAAC meets quarterly on the Second Monday of each month at 10:00 am, in New Bern, NC.
The meetings are held in January, April, July, and October.
