Regional Digital Inclusion Plan Project

ECC is partnering with North Carolina State University’s Institute for Emerging Issues (NCSU IEI) and the NCSU Friday Institute on a Regional Digital Inclusion Plan Initiative. Funding for this project is coming through a grant from the NC Department of Information Technology. Additional funding from the Camber Foundation will also be supporting this effort.

Our goal is to have one regional plan with sections on each of the region's nine counties. Developing a digital inclusion plan will help support our region’s efforts to increase broadband access and use and reduce the digital divide.

ECC held two Regional Digital Inclusion Plan kick-off events in August 2024. We are currently facilitating listening sessions in each of the 6 counties that do not have a digital inclusion plan – Craven, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Pamlico, and Wayne counties.

As part of this effort, we are asking folks to complete a couple of quick surveys. The Digital Equity Survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete, while the Asset Inventory Survey will take approximately 3 minutes to complete.
